Discover the Terre Alte (Highlands) of Trentino from September 20th to October 5th
The stunning beauty of the Dolomites, the uncontaminated nature and the wine and food traditions of Trentino are the protagonists of “I Rifugi del Gusto 2014”(Mountain Refuges of Taste 2014).
From 20th September to 5th October, 45 mountain lodges are open to accommodate both Italians and foreign tourists, even at the end of summer.
For all the duration of the event the Refuges of Taste welcome visitors at the end of their walk through the Highlands of Trentino with their typical warmth and with new tastes and smells, alternating traditional Trentino dishes with more contemporary reinterpretations, all accompanied by a glass of wine and a glass of grappa artfully made.
There are also opportunities for meetings, for narrating fairy tales and legends, stories of fairies and elves, or, more simply, for talking about the soldiers who lived, fought and died there during the Great War, interspersed with tales of exciting mountaineering feats: the refuges are transformed for the occasion into a place where all the precious historical and cultural heritage of the Dolomites may be shared. The opportunity to take part in cooking classes, in excursions to discover the area with expert guides and to experience rock climbing with specialized instructors complete this occasion.
